Types of Crowns
Depending upon the type of teeth that needs to be crowned, the dentists recommended various materials for the crown.
Metal crowns are made up of gold and are resistant to wear and chipping. Also, they don’t form an impact on the neighboring and opposing natural tooth. But these types of crowns don’t look natural because of their color.
Zirconia crowns are similar in color to natural tooth and is a stronger material for fabricating a dental crown.
Composite crowns are natural-looking crowns and do not chip quickly. However, they tend to wear rapidly because of the chewing process.
Porcelain crowns are the most natural-looking crowns. However, they chip easily and therefore, they are not used for the backside of the mouth.
Porcelain-fused-metal tooth crowns in Calgary are also natural-looking.
